Are there hidden costs or fees in the program?
No. The cost for being a Network Community is $200/month. We don't charge extra based on how often you call, email or instant message. You will not pay more for attending training sessions or checking out books from the Lending Library. When state laws affecting your land use code are changed, you won't pay any more to have your local code updated.
By performing these standard services for a broad network of communities, we can provide small towns and rural areas affordable access to a level of service they otherwise could not afford.
Who will I speak to when I call? Who will answer my email questions? Who is on the other end of the instant message?
You will speak directly to a member of our Planning Team, someone who an expert in small towns and rural areas. We have a collaborative working environment so, no matter what are of land use your question involves, we are set up to connect you with the right person. We have experts in planning, ordinances, engineering, mapping and land use law that you have unlimited access to.
How often are the training sessions?
We have doubled the amount of training sessions we are offering this year, now offering at least two per month. Many of the additional courses are expert-level sessions that provide a deeper level of discussion. As we continue to add communities to the Program, it is our goal to continue to expand our training to offer more sessions, with added frequency. We want to make everyone from the new elected official to the seasoned town planner an expert in small town planning.

We don't have a web site. Can we use your site to distribute information?
We have a number of communities that do this, yes. As part of the Program, we maintain your public documents in both a Network Portfolio (a hard-copy you will have) and online for 24/7 access. This will include your ordinances and maps and any other official information we prepare for you. We make this available on a web site, where the public can access it along with you, or on a password-protected site where you control the distribution.
