Permit applications can be obtained and submitted at the Corinna Town Hall during Township office hours of 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. A drop box is available outside of Town Hall for 24 hour access to pick up or drop off application forms.

Zoning Administrator office hours are typically 8:30 am to 12:00 noon on the second Monday of each month (Tuesdays if holiday) at Town Hall. The Zoning Administrator can also be reached weekdays from 8:00 to 4:30 pm by calling toll free at 866-900-3064. Meetings can be requested at Town Hall by appointment if necessary.

Applications for conditional use permits, variances, zoning changes or subdivisions are due thirty (30) days prior to the meeting.  Public hearings for variances, conditional use permits and subdivisions/plats are regularly held on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. Please submit all permit application materials well in advance of when you intend to begin construction to avoid unnecessary delays.

If your property is in a shoreland area (within 1,000 ft of lakes and 300 ft of certain rivers/streams):

  • Conditional use, variance, subdivision, ordinance amendment and zoning map amendment applications to the Township result in a recommendation to Wright County. Wright County makes the final decision on such applications and a separate application must be made to their office. Contact Wright County Planning & Zoning at 763-682-7338 for necessary application forms and information.
  • Land use (zoning) permits are not issued by the Township. Contact Wright County to obtain such permits.
  • Building permits are issued by the Township. Once we receive a copy of your Wright County land use permit, and after the building permit application has been reviewed, a building permit can be issued. No building permit is required by Wright County.

If your property is in a non-shoreland areas (more than 1,000 ft from lakes and 300 ft from certain rivers):

  • All land use (zoning), building, conditional use, variance, subdivision and ordinance amendment applications are issued by Corinna Township. There is no need to obtain permits or approval from Wright County.
  • Requests for rezoning to a less restrictive zoning district must be approved by Wright County. Contact the Wright County Planning & Zonin Office for information on their application requirements.
