1. Maintain the agricultural character of the township while working to restore the small town feel of the City of Becker and provide high-quality development along key corridors.
2. Establish trail systems within the community’s future residential areas as growth occurs.
3. Support efforts to create and expand recreational opportunities available within the township.
4. Maintain cooperation between Becker Township and the City of Becker to preserve one strong, Becker community.
5. Proactively engage the public in township business, assuring that decisions are made openly, transparently and in a way that is accessible to all residents of the township.
6. As a township, cooperatively seek to grow jobs in the local area for the benefit of everyone.
7. Look to expand commercial and industrial development within the township to grow the tax base and add jobs while not damaging the town’s character.
8. Add residential development where it adds to the character of the community.
9. Seek to grow the commercial and industrial areas of the township as a way to efficiently generate new tax base.
10. Maintain a long term perspective on the financial management of the township.
11. Commit to transportation planning and following a capital improvements plan for road maintenance.
12. Promote transportation systems that are consistent with the adjoining land use.
13. Promote land use that is consistent with the adjoining transportation system.
