New Land Use Ordinances and Zoning Map

PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Aitkin Planning Commission will meet on Monday, December 8, 2008, at 6:30 p.m., to conduct a PUBLIC HEARING on the adoption of a NEW ZONING MAP to go with the recently adopted Land Use, Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance for the City of Aitkin.  A map and information on the new zoning districts can be found online at www.aitkinplanning.info or in person at the Aitkin City Hall. 

All property located within the limits of the City of Aitkin is proposed to be rezoned.  Property owners can opt out of the city-wide rezoning by sending a written letter to City Hall, 109 1^st Avenue NW, Aitkin, MN  56431.  Written letters to opt out of the rezoning must be received by City Hall no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2008. 

Approval of the city-wide rezoning will be considered at the Public Hearing.  For those property owners who choose to opt out of the city-wide rezoning, individual rezoning hearing dates will be scheduled for the Planning Commission to consider those properties individually.  No action is required by those property owners who are not opposed to their property being rezoned.
